Sumikawa Snow Park sits high on the Miyagi side of the Zao mountains and is best known as a launch point for snowcat tours up to the frost-covered snow-monster trees near the summit. It has 8 courses and a vertical drop of about 300 metres, with a family-friendly layout and deep Zao snow, and it draws sightseers as much as skiers in midwinter.
