High on the Tateyama alpine range above Tateyama town in Toyama, this is a spring ski area reached via the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route rather than a lift-served winter resort. Around Murodo the snow lies deep into May and June, drawing ski-tourers and backcountry skiers to the slopes below the peaks.
