Zao Sarukura is a small ski area on the Yamagata side of the Zao mountains, with five gentle courses and a vertical drop of about 180 metres. It is a quiet, family-friendly hill away from the bustle of the main Zao Onsen resort, sharing the same heavy Tohoku snowfall.
