About This Resort

Akakura Kanko Resort sits on the slopes of Mount Myoko in the Myoko Kogen highlands of Niigata, one of the snowiest corners of Japan. It is a large area of 28 courses served by 21 lifts, with a vertical drop of about 760 metres, long tree-lined runs and wide views over Lake Nojiri and the Nagano mountains. The resort grew up around the historic Akakura Kanko Hotel and is known for its onsen, heavy reliable snow and a relaxed, traditional atmosphere.
