About This Resort

Mt. Norikura spreads across the eastern foot of Mount Norikura in the Norikura Kogen highlands of Matsumoto, Nagano, and is one of the larger ski areas in the region. It has 19 courses over 70 hectares, served by nine lifts, with a 500-metre vertical drop between its 2,000-metre top and 1,500-metre base and a longest run of five kilometres. The steepest pitch reaches 38 degrees, and there is a terrain park with a one-make jump and slopestyle features.

Snowboarding is allowed across the whole mountain, and the resort does not run night skiing. Skiing on Norikura dates back to the early twentieth century; the ski area opened as Norikura Kogen Ski Resort in 1962 and was formerly known as Norikura Kogen Onsen Ski Resort. It is now operated by Blue Resort Norikura.
