About This Resort

Tengendai Kogen is the highest ski area on the Yamagata side of the Azuma mountains, reached by a ropeway that climbs to a base already high on the slopes of Mount Nishi-Azuma. With a vertical drop of around 900 metres it offers some of the longest continuous descents in Tohoku, deep snow well into spring, and access to backcountry and telemark terrain above the lifts. It is a small, snow-focused area rather than a resort village.
